Hexagram 32, Héng (Duration): Line 2
恒卦九二 · 雷风恒 · 中文版
九二:悔亡。
The line (Legge)
The second NINE, undivided, shows all occasion for repentance disappearing.
Small Image commentary
'All occasion for repentance on the part of the subject of the second NINE, (undivided,), disappears:' - he can abide long in the due mean.
象曰:九二悔亡,能久中也。
In plain words
Regret vanishes. The second line is yang in a yin place and should have cause for regret, but it is central and can keep to the middle way for a long time. The Small Image says it can keep to the middle for long.
Applying it to your situation
If your situation is not all you would like, this line suggests keeping to the middle way and letting time ease the regret. What "middle" could you hold to for the long run?
Position
A solid (yang) line in the second place, which is a yin (even) place, so it is not in its proper place. It holds the centre of the lower trigram. Its partner is line 5; one is yin and the other yang, so they respond to each other.
If this line moves
With this line moving alone, Héng changes into Hexagram 62 Xiǎo Guò (Small Exceeding). The Jiaoshi Yilin verse for this change (Chinese): 焦氏易林·恒之小过.
The hexagram
Hexagram 32 Héng (Duration). The Judgment: Heng indicates successful progress and no error (in what it denotes). But the advantage will come from being firm and correct; and movement in any direction whatever will be advantageous.
