九五：有孚挛如，富以其邻。
The line (Legge)
The fifth NINE, undivided, shows its subject possessed of sincerity, and drawing others to unite with him. Rich in resources, he employs his neighbours (in the same cause with himself).

'He is possessed of sincerity, and draws others to unite with him:' - he does not use only his own rich resources.
象曰：有孚挛如，不独富也。
In plain words
With sincerity, closely bound to others, one shares one's wealth with one's neighbours. "Closely bound" means tied tightly together. The fifth line holds the place of honour, is of one mind with the fourth, and shares its prosperity with those nearby. The Small Image says it is not rich alone.

Position
A solid (yang) line in the fifth place, which is a yang (odd) place, so it is in its proper place. It holds the centre of the upper trigram. Its partner is line 2; both are yang, so they do not respond.
If this line moves
With this line moving alone, Xiǎo Chù changes into Hexagram 26 Dà Chù (Great Taming). The Jiaoshi Yilin verse for this change (Chinese): 焦氏易林·小畜之大畜.
A recorded case from Takashima
Xiao Chu to Da Chu: Okada Heizō starts a business: Okada Heizō was about to start a business and received the fifth line of Xiao Chu, "trust that binds; rich together with the neighbour". Takashima said it would profit, but only with an honest partner to run it, who must share in the gains.
The hexagram
Hexagram 9 Xiǎo Chù (Small Taming). The Judgment: Xiao Xu indicates that (under its conditions) there will be progress and success. (We see) dense clouds, but no rain coming from our borders in the west.
