Hexagram 26, Dà Chù (Great Taming): Line 6 (top)
大畜卦上九 · 山天大畜 · 中文版
上九:何天之衢,亨。
The line (Legge)
The sixth NINE, undivided, shows its subject (as) in command of the firmament of heaven. There will be progress.
Small Image commentary
'In command of the firmament of heaven:' - the way is grandly open for movement.
象曰:何天之衢,道大行也。
In plain words
How open is the highway of heaven: success. The highway is a road leading in every direction; some read the first word as "bearing". The top line is at the height of great restraint: the store is full, and the road is open. The Small Image says the way is carried out in a great way.
Applying it to your situation
If after long accumulation the road has finally opened, this line suggests stepping out freely. Where would you most like this road to take you first?
Position
A solid (yang) line in the top place, which is a yin (even) place, so it is not in its proper place. Its partner is line 3; both are yang, so they do not respond.
If this line moves
With this line moving alone, Dà Chù changes into Hexagram 11 Tài (Peace). The Jiaoshi Yilin verse for this change (Chinese): 焦氏易林·大畜之泰.
The hexagram
Hexagram 26 Dà Chù (Great Taming). The Judgment: Under the conditions of Da Xu it will be advantageous to be firm and correct. (If its subject do not seek to) enjoy his revenues in his own family (without taking service at court), there will be good fortune. It will be advantageous for him to cross the great stream.
